Dadaism started in Zürich, Switzerland as a reaction to World War I and the nationalism that clearly sparked it. This art movement took inspiration from Cubism, Constructivism, Expressionism, and Futurism.

Surrealism started almost as a continuation of Dadaism and shares a lot of key artists like Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernst, Salvador Dalí, André Breton, Man Ray, René Magritte, and more.
